High quality, AiryHair tape-ins are a semi-permanent method. In other words, additional locks will remain in your hair until you remove them or, alternatively, until your hair grows out. This is a more permanent solution than clip-ins or flip-ins.

You can experiment and play with the tape in extensions, like washing your hair, styling it, and anything else you do to your natural hair. Of course, that implies that you bought Remy hair extensions. Those should have just natural human hair.

If you have mixed or synthetic hair, you shouldn’t blow dry it or use hot tools, and the extensions will not last you that long, to begin with. With Remy’s hair, you can be relaxed and know that you purchased high-quality hair that you can dye and style.

No matter what grade of hair you get, you must ensure you’re not putting anything in it that could loosen the glue on the tape. That means you shouldn’t use oily products around it, or tapes could fall out.

Your hair professional will take a very thin layer of hair and two tape-in extensions. Afterward, one glues them together so that one extension goes underneath and one on the top. Your hair sits between it.

The application process takes about one to two hours and is completely pain-free. Of course, it all depends on the stylist that you have. That’s why we recommend doing research! It does not matter what type of hair extensions you plan to have. You don’t want to go to somebody who doesn’t know what they’re doing. Why? Because they could damage your hair. Tape-ins should not damage your hair, mainly if applied to healthy hair.

Did that not make much sense? Let’s break it all down, piece by piece! Look at the picture above.

1. We recommend our hair extensions with transparent tape. There is nothing worse than hair connections showing.
2. Compare the tape on the right and left. Which one is of lower quality? That’s #2.
3. Here’s how one begins the installation process.
4. This is how tape-in hair extensions look after they are applied.

Once the extensions are in your hair, be happy! They are incredibly comfortable, much more than clip-ins, since you can sometimes feel them. Tape-ins are so flat that you cannot feel them at all. Yes, even when you run your hand through the hair. That makes sleeping with them even more comfortable.

One should be able to go from 6 to 8 weeks without getting them removed and re-applied. You don’t want to leave them in for too long, either, because you can damage the tape as you brush your hair once; there’s too much space between your roots and the tape. It will also look way better if you maintain them regularly.

In the initial aftercare, you should not wash your hair for the first 48 hours, nor should you touch it too much. This gives the glue some time to properly seal itself and attach to real strands. Any touching or tugging can loosen the glue and make the tapes slip, so it is best to just leave it alone for the first two days.

Most stylists will recommend brushing your hair at least twice a day. That’s good advice to follow! It is a good idea to get a special detangling brush which will not do any damage to your hair and will get rid of all the tangling.

These brushes are also much better for your hair since they won’t rip it out or tug at your extensions. Also, those brushes help prevent matting. Extensions are slightly more prone to getting tangled than natural hair, so keep that in mind.

You must be slightly careful when you wash your hair to avoid damaging the extensions. Don’t scrub too aggressively or pull on the hair. In other words, be patient and gentle. We recommend using a moisturizing treatment on the hair. A good choice is a Moroccan oil-based shampoo and conditioner. However, don’t apply any product on the bonds because it will loosen the adhesive.

What about sleeping with extensions? We have written so much about this topic alone! It would help to go to bed with your hair in a ponytail or a braid. This will keep it together, prevent matting, and tangling, and it will also be very comfortable during sleep.

As your hair grows, you will need to re-apply the adhesive tape close to the roots.

How does one remove tape-ins? A solution loosens the adhesive once you apply a few drops of the tape. A few moments later, you can easily pull out those tapes. Afterward, a hairstylist will brush out any glue residue that comes off without any effort.

Please keep in mind that your hair might feel thinner. Assuming your hairstylist had to thin out your hair to put in extensions. Of course, it’s not like you’ve lost a lot of hair; it could feel like that. So, if you have very thick hair naturally, it might need to be thinned out. Just so your strands blend properly with the tape-ins.

Conclusion

Overall, tape-in extensions are a great fit for instant length and volume. They will boost your confidence, and having luscious hair is just a nice feeling.

It is not the cheapest option as you should go to a salon. It’s not recommended that you install them yourself, but after the first payment, the reapplication is not as expensive. Most girls find tape-ins extremely comfortable and relatively easy to maintain, which is a big plus.

You can style them in different ways and even dye them. One of the most important things is no damage to your hair. So, you can rest assured that your natural hair will stay intact. Tape-in extensions are one of the best options, and you will not regret getting them.
